Avenue of the Giants

There are a few things to make sure that you check out while at the Avenue of the Giants. A day can easily be spent here with the beautiful redwoods.

Chapman's Gem & Mineral Shop & Museum is an impressive 7500 square foot showroom. This Showroom contains crystals, fossils, minerals, carving, jewelry, stones, shells, bread, books, and a ton more cool things to check out. They are open seven days a week from 10 am to 5 pm.

Make sure that you don't forget to grab your friends a souvenir. Their One Log House & Espresso & Gifts makes this really easy. The shop is located in a unique house that is over 2000 years old redwood log house. They also cave a little deli where you can grab some espresso, deli sandwiches, ice cream, and more.

For those of you that don't want to get out of their car as they see the redwoods make sure that you check out the Myers Flat. The Myers Flat allows you to drive your car on a log and count the rings. Kids are able to go up into the 2 story treehouse and walk through the stump.

Make sure that you do also take the time to get out of the car and a little bit of exploring. Visit the Sanctuary Forest that allows free public hikes. People are able to visit Sinkyone Wilderness State Park, Mattole Watershed, and King Range National Conservation Area.

After your trip make sure that you take some time to wind down at Briceland Vineyards Winery — Tasting & Tours. It is a great place to kick up your feet and enjoy some wine. They are the most Awarded Maker of Humboldt wine since the year 1985. They offer summer tastings from 1-5 pm on both Saturday and Sunday or by appointment all year.
