Humboldt Redwoods Visitor Center
The Humboldt Redwoods State Park Visitor Center should be the first stop before exploring the park. Interact with hands-on exhibits, read books in the library, browse the gift shop, and more to learn about the history and ecosystem of the park.
Humboldt Redwoods State Park
This beautiful state park filled with towering redwoods allows visitors to enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, picnicking, and fishing or kayaking on the Eel River. Visitors can also spot wildlife, take pictures, and relax in peaceful groves.
Shrine Drive-Thru Tree
This massive coast redwood has been hollowed to allow vehicles to pass through, giving visitors a way to experience the scale of these ancient trees. A gift shop, tree houses, and other attractions are also on site for the whole family to explore.
Avenue of the Giants
Lined with trees that can reach over 350 feet, this 31-mile scenic byway allows visitors to experience the beauty of Humboldt Redwoods State Park. Along the way, travelers can explore picnic areas, hiking trails, and famous roadside attractions.

The Olde Riverwood
If you want to experience a true piece of Humboldt history, this is it. This 100-year-old redwood A-frame roadhouse has recently undergone a massive revival and is back to being a cultural hub for the area. They’ve modernized the classic roadhouse menu—expect high-quality comfort food with a twist. It’s arguably the best place in the redwoods to grab a drink, watch a band, and rub elbows with both locals and travelers.
